Medianoche is a Spanish term for a midnight dinner. Filipinos traditionally celebrate with their family and spend the new year together for medianoche. I celebrated the new year with a very delightful gathering with my family. We were catered by 8 Spoons and it was awesome. Everything was literally mouthwatering. Not to mention that the prices of every dish are very reasonable that wouldn’t disappoint you with the taste of their food. The platter comes out with thick microwavable ware so that reheating won’t be that much of a hassle and you can serve it as well with style.

On the menu:

1. Herbed Chicken in Cream Sauce (Good for 8 - 650php) - the creamy sauce actually made the chicken much more tasty. One of my favorite dishes.

2. Salmon Crepe (Good for 8 - 650php)

3. Oriental Style Pasta with Chicken and Shiitake Mushrooms (Good for 8 - 450php) - Filipinos usually eat pasta within their gatherings because they believe that it symbolizes a long life.

4. Chicken in Mushroom Gravy (Good for 8 - 600php) -it comes with some mashed potato.

5. Beef Pot Pie (Good for 8 - 700php) - it has different cuts of beef inside along with some vegetables.

6. Grilled Vietnamese Pork Skewers (Good for 8 - 600php) - looks like a typical grilled barbecue but it taste different.

7. Roast Beef in Mushroom Gravy (Good for 8 - 650php) - ahhhh! I’ll be biased with this one because this was my favorite. It’s best dish I had that night. It’s very nice along with the mashed potato. Believe it or not, I ate almost half of the ordered platter.

THE TRADITIONAL COUNTDOWN

Ahhh! Christmas is within our reach in just a few. I can now say that I am officially invigorated for this season. I am finally feeling all the rush of the last minute shopping for both gifts and groceries while the others are chilling on their way to midnight. By the time those two hands of our clock points at twelve, everyone starts greeting with full of smiles and some are with joyful gifts on their palm.

What I’m wearing: long sleeve shirt w/ collar (21 Men), braided belt (Hickok), off-white jeans (Penshoppe), black argyle patterned socks (World Trade Bazaar), sta. cruz shoes (Crocs), brown braided bracelet (SM Accessories)

What I love with my OOTD is that it gives a modern look with a ‘lil bit of traditional style on it. Tacking in my shirt (from Forever 21) made the look much more classy than it actually should be. As I match it with those pair of Sta. Cruz (from Crocs) the outfit became comfortable for me since the sole is very similar to a typical Crocs shoe. I made it look modern by simply folding my jeans upward, and that can show the pattern of my argyle socks as well.

I pulled the sleeves up so that it would look much more masculine.

SM Accessories are always on the top of my list when shopping for accessories. They have a very reasonable price that will not disappoint you with their products.

These are my favorite pair of shoes. You can wear this anytime and anywhere, because it can both look classy and fresh. It can be a substitute for espadrilles or even top-siders, not to mention it is very comfortable for your feet.

A Cozy Vintage Affair

Christmas is almost here, and to be honest, I’m not yet feeling any Holiday spirit. It feels like it’s just another ordinary day for me so I’m not really looking forward to it nowadays. Anyway, my outfit really goes on with the season as well with one of the most demanded trends: Aztec patterns. It’s a casual vintage look that is really comfy for a cold weather. It was made perfect by adding up a brown rucksack along for a travel.

What I’m wearing: aztec sweater (pre-loved by Aivan Magno of www.aivanmagno.blogspot.com), off-white jeans (Penshoppe), braided belt (Hickok), argyle patterned socks (World Trade Bazaar), brown sneakers (DC Shoes), rucksack (21 Men)

I went to the World Trade Bazaar last week and made a visit in Bloggers United 4. Luckily I found this aztec sweater hanging on Aivan Magno’s booth (www.aivanmagno.blogspot.com). I actually had a dilemma on either getting this one or the other pattern I saw. Aivan helped me with the decision making when he told me that I should pick this one since he had some doubts on selling this item because he still likes it.

This braided belt (from Hickok) is a very nice match with my off-white jeans (from Penshoppe) for a vintage look.

Say hello to my everyday bag (from 21 Men). I use this alot in school because it can store my books, notebooks, pens, etc. It’s very functional and fashionable at the same time.

I just started collecting socks with exquisite patterns so I started off with these pair together with two other pairs that you’ll be seeing soon on my other blogs. | Sneakers are from DC Shoes.
